Well Big Break NFL in Puerto Rico is off and running! I had a great time last night at The Lazy Dog in downtown Boulder to kick off the season. It was a great turn out: friends both new and old driving in from Denver (thanks Ania and Allie!) and others coming from their respective training and class schedules. So nice of everyone to come out to have some dinner and enjoy the first episode of Big Break NFL!
So I hope everyone enjoyed the first show! I think the Golf Channel made the first episode pretty darn exciting, they sure have a way with making golf seem so dramatic. Although I knew what was going to happen, I still felt the nerves again. All those great memories come flooding back!
Team Rice did a pretty decent job for the first show! We put up respectable time on the Glass Break, Jerry rocked his drive (yes… it was down the cart path, but anyone can say they have enjoyed a good “members bounce” once in their lifetime, the golfing gods were looking out for us), I thought I stuck my 110-yard approach shot pretty darn close but Z and then Stef were able to knock me out of the top spot. Isaac handled the VERY tough green-side shot with ease and then kicked major butt on his putt, gosh he made that exciting. I felt pretty robbed on my putt– SERIOUS lip-out action but hopefully some will drop in the next episode! Overall, the Big Break Combine finished up as such:
Team Bulger took the win for the day and Team Rypien found themselves in the back of the pack. I am excited to see Episode 2 — I will be back in Napa visiting my family so it will be a lot of fun sharing the experience with them!
